My nephew spotted this bit of cascading water for me on trip to play in the snow. A bit of rock, a bit of runoff and cold temps create a canvas of misty breath, glittering ice and a solidarity of rock. Soon this will all be frozen over and burried in snow until Memorial Day when the spring will melt it enough to thaw

  • Stock photo: John 7:38 : "Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." A little winter hike up near Clear lake led me to this. The delicate ice hanging in front of the rushing water, almost suspended in time. A moment that a bit of sunny warmth will evaporate. I really struck by the contrast of textures in this shot. Sometimes it does pay to look down.

  • Stock photo: On the slopes of Mt. Baker we found this unnamed stream in the rain. It was fascinating to watch how the water made its way over and between huge boulders and rocks, seemingly splitting boulders over time.

  • Stock photo: One of my wanders up a small tumbling creek South of Rainier. I was at first attracted to this intimate scene by the leaves. As I got closer I found the vaying textures of rock and the way the water rushed over them but color and texture showing through to be even more fascinating. I hope you enjoy as well

  • Stock photo: Psalm 145: 14 " The Lord upholdeth all who fall." When I spotted these two fallen leaves caught on a limb hanging just above the rushing water I was struck by the power of the message. For in life how many times do we fall only to be lifted up by our faith, our friends and or family. There are even times when we are lifted up by complete strangers. While this is probably not the most technically perfect image I have ever taken it certainly reached my heart like none other. I hope you enjoy.

Rainier. What you might expect to see are images of that majestic peak but what I was greeted with was water flowing everywhere from the melting of recent snow. A nice surprise, I hope you enjoy this gift from nature as much as I did yesterday!
