Comp images are small watermarked images (smaller than the preview page) that anyone can download. The watermark should prevent any use.

Have in mind that this is allowed in every site, sometimes clearly informed like here, sometimes just by a simple right-click and save on the image.

But yes, someone who got a comp image may use it, but again, it has a watermark.

Lightbox and shopping cart are stages that may or may not lead to a sale. It's like when you go to Amazon, put something in your cart and perhaps just leave it there. In my experience, most of the time the buyer purchases almost immediately.

ALL,

I have been here with SP since 2006. I started this evolution to learn and boy did I. I will not renew my Subscription this time. I feel that SP have decreased in traffic and support to there Photographers have been lacking. The one time I had technical issues it took them over two weeks to respond and after saying it was fixed it wasnt. This tells me that SP doesnt value me as a photographer. What ever the reasons are, it is what it is. I feel I could do better else were. SP needs to re-think the way thay are doing buisness. I don't fore see any future in this site if change doesn't happen soon.

To all of you whom have helped me over the years THANK YOU!! To all of you whom are making wonderful pictures out there thank you for the inspiration. To all of you whom I have got answers to my stupid questions thank you also. I did ask some stupid questions.

Special thanks to Jennifer Ralston whom directed to me to read Scott Kelby books. These help immensely.
Special thanks to Mr. Mike Dawson for your wonderful photos. Reviewing your photos inspired me.
Good to hear from you Frank. You are right! I have not heard back from SP about the message I sent to them. I believe thet Mel is correct when he says that "no one is tending the store". My subscription is good until next March, so I'll leave my work on SP until then anyway - unless SP doesn't last that long.

I know what you mean about the other sites wanting to know more information than is really necessary. I have moved to the Fine Art America sight at: [L]http://fineartamerica.com[/L] , although I do not consider my work as fine art, they certainly have a very user-friendly site and it's free (there is a premium pay for use deal, if you want it). Also, you can link individual photos to your own website, using HTML code found at the bottom right corner and they have a FaceBook page that you can sign to and when you have posted a new photo, painting, etc., it shows on their FB page and your own FaceBook page, as well, so your friends and aquaintances can see it on your page, and followers of FAA see it too on the FAA page. This is all for free to you as they mark-up your asking price. Check it out for yourself. They offer all different formats of your work, even greeting cards, if you want to offer them. I offer everything for them to sell.

I would like to keep in touch with all of you on this forum directly. Please email me at: prose7@bell.net . I will reply to you all, but it could take up to a week to reply, as 1) I still have a semi-retired day job and 2) I have a chronic illness that I have to live with.

Cheers to all and be sure to check out that FAA sight. My work is not really close to what I think of as fine art, but I have had some nice comments from other members, using the Private Message tool, and it has all been positive.

Your friend,

Pete
