Full frame camera sensor does very nice colors / detail at dim light, no flash needed.

Sony 135mm f/1.8 would be even better.

200mm f/2.8 would work too...

I agree Stan, one can get close without freaking out the people..keeps it more natural, and background compresses with bokeh much better!

Stan
Really love this "people friendly" shots. I use 18-55mm and 135mm canon lens. Beside a Tamron 18-270mm zoom lens, but I find this lens to give to soft photos and I'm in prosess to change this lens

Image ID 790565 Pink is my color

Took this photo with the Tamron lens.

I would agree, that is until I recently got the Nikon 85mm f1.4 ... I did a wedding recently where I was taking portraits of the B&G on my 70 - 200 f2.8 VR. This was at a large estate, where the B&G wanted pictures pretty much everywhere ... it was hot ... I was carrying a lot of gear (couldn't leave it in the car) ... I was sweating ... I decided on a smaller lens ...

Now, the 85 has it's limitations but now, for this type of work it would be the 85 before anything else.

Love the pics BTW
