Storm Clouds in Black and White This is my attempt creating a black and white image of this awesome cloud formations on the horizon. Is the grayscale alright or do I need some adjusting?

Thank you for your input and have a great day!

What editing program did you do your conversion in? The pattern in the clouds is very cool. You want to really set those off by making a slight adjustment to highlight and shadows to really bring out that pattern. Some programs will use sliders, some Adobe programs have "curves" that you can make adjustments in. A editing program with more basic figures you can try adjusting the contrast til you have a little more detail in the clouds. The only other thing I would address with this photo is straightening the horizon. Most editing programs have a straightening tool. Hope that helps.

Thank you, Chris for your suggestions. I usually use Corel Paint Pro as my editing program. I think I will leave this image as it is for a little while; but I will most likely go ahead and work on the shadows and highlights/ contrasting to bring the cloud structure out and noticeable as the focal point in the photo. I'm never quite sure how much is too much in black and white as far as highlights and shadows go.

I appreciate your time and comments. Have a great day and may God bless you!
