How can I improve Black an white in Color?

I need help with my photo

I don't know if the idea works (that is to say it may or may not I'm just no judge). It might stand out more / be more interesting if you de-saturated the trees and sky and left the colour in the water and reflections? The sky is not adding a lot and the eye is kinda drawn to the bare tree and most of the real estate is taken up by the water where you would still (I presume) get the nice colours reflected. Some of the keywords are not very relevant and you need to add autumn, fall, foliage etc.

Thanks Mike for your thoughts. I was going for the sharp contrast between colors. The sky I tried several ways to give it more umph but after printing it out I see that it needed a whole lot of it.
