I'm new to Shutterpoint and looking for advise to have my photo's seen and hopefully some sales. I'm an amateur photographer and do it for the love of photography. That being said a few sales would be kinda cool also. You can see my photo's on Shutterpoint by searching for "JaypeaFoto". You can also visit our site at http://www.jaypeafoto.com.

Look forward to any helpful hints.

Regards,
JP

Jean-Paul:

I believe you will have to upload images to Shutterpoint before you will see views.
The more and better your images are the more viewing you'll get.
Stock type images are more likely to sell than just pretty pictures.

Linking your personal website will only drive traffic from SP IF you have images on SP that buyers/viewers look at in the first place.

You have to go outside to be seen. Preferably with clothes on but some may prefer the alternative. You will get more exposure probably without. You need to talk/write to add substance to what is seen.

Thinking about going will do nothing as with anything you actually have to do it to see the results. Doing something is always better than doing nothing and just thinking about doing it. Hope you get the full idea.

I can see you have already started to take action.

By adding a post here you are getting instant exposure or at least the opportunity for it. Had you not posted this i would have no knowledge of your existence. If you didn't post it and just thought about it you had nothing. By posting your site it allows viewers to see a little about you and your work. This creates a mini circle. Having Facebook and YouTube makes the circle expand further and gives a broader view of your work and who you are.

Good job. Keep posting and adding photos. Keep doing.

Having tried to answer that question for 60 odd years all I can suggest get a folding table and chair build an inventory and and sign up for the next art in the park show near you. You will have a much better chance of being seen than among 1,000,000 other photographers on the internet after the same goal.
Best of luck!

I am sure the next step will be the electronic image, and hope I shall live to see it. I trust that the creative eye will continue to function ,whatever technological innovations may develop.
