Say you see a animal of interest to photographers need to be able to post the sighting of where and when you saw the animal.

hi Jeff.....I found out that birding folks have sites to report sightings, like Ebirds....and there are group email lists for reporting sightings State by State...so I would assume that most species have their own followings on line.....butterflies do, so I would google or bing search the mamal, location, and "how to report"
also try your local extension offices for your state universities, many have knowledgable people who might know where you can report sightings

good luck

Check with the state game and fish or natural resources department of your state sometimes they have a list or non game person handling that information also now days most of them have website with a page dedicated to just that kind of information. With tight budgets some of them may be pretty busy but I have found that if you work with them they can be quite helpful and also appreciate any information you are willing to share too.

I am sure the next step will be the electronic image, and hope I shall live to see it. I trust that the creative eye will continue to function ,whatever technological innovations may develop.
