James,
Welcome to SP and the Forums. Hope to see you around and that you become a regular here.
From the title of your post in this thread "Rate My Photo" - photos come up randomly for rating. You will have to be patient for that and probably have some pretty thick skin....

I will check out your portfolio, but you should try and put a link in the thread so it is quicker and easier to find and get to.

Just check at the bottom of the message page - you will find this:

HTML code is permitted. Special symbols permit some HTML functionality.

That will explain how to post a photo, link, etc...

Take care.

The best approach for contructive comment is to post in the "how can I improve" forum. Ratings depend as much on the quality of the rater as the image being rated.

Nobody rates anything around here. All you ever get are skips.

Gary, one month is a relatively short time in the life of a stock collection here. In time you'll see ratings increase in numbers but most collections here will have more skips than ratings.
I have a rating to skip ratio of 1:2. Rating does happen. Of the ratings I would say 1 in 4 offer something constructive or insightful.
Another consideration. Being that there are thousands of photos on the site and only a small number of people rating them (members, not staff), it takes a while to have any individual photo come up for rating. When one does pop up the rater may skip it for a number of reasons.
1)Some people only rate photos they think are good because they're not capable of saying anything negative.
2)Some people lack the ability to identify what's wrong with a photo so they skip rather than rate.
3)Some people look for specific types of photos to rate for a number of reasons and may skip one because it doesn't fit what their looking to rate.
4)Some people skip because the photo offers no interest to them
5)And then there are skips because the rater knows they can't help the photographer. If I saw a photo with numerous technical issues but the photographs EXIF data reveals a photo taken in Auto Exposure with a point and shoot, I may be inclined to move on to another photo because the critique offered would probably not be understood and even if it was may not be able to be executed.

When photos or a collection of photos receive a disproportionate amount of skips to ratings the photographer needs to do an honest review of their own work.
