Bill,

I just don't understand the idea. B&W in color?

I’m trying to put a different perspective into some my photos by using other colors and black and white to isolate parts of the subjects I took as inspiration for them.

Selective color Bill. Choose wisely.

I would retitle. Though I seem to get the idea that you are converting a selective part or subject in your image to B&W. Instead of B&W, with selective color left.

Hmmm.

I am doing both adding black and white to color and color to black and white.

Bill; this whole concept has been on my thoughts for the last few days.

Why not just convert your color image to B&W and perform selective color?

Rename the album B&W Selective Color, or Selective Color.

I'm not familiar with that process but have copied instructions on how to do it. For the moment I am going to stay with how I have been doing it until I comfortable with the selective color process.
