Stock Photography subject

Hey. just had a thought / question:

After looking at the most popular photos, and wading my way through a lot of erect nipples with stuff poured on them; (not offensive to me by the way, just interesting in that there were so many nudes in general) - I headed over to the FAQ and checked out where they were in "what's hot" - and "Professional models and tasteful nudes" were 8th from the top.

What I was wondering though, is whether or not I can head out on a photo shoot and do a lot of tasteful photos of an erect penis with stuff poured on it?

I mean, there aren't a lot of nude knees in various positions, or nude elbows, or nude pinkie fingers, so obviously the nude erect nipples means the erotic is what's important - therefore why not a penis? I'm sure there's as much a demand in the market for one as there is another. Think it's worth my time? I find it odd the female body is there but not the male.

Well thanks for replying, Beatriz and Kim... I'm sure one can post a tasteful nude be it man or woman. And yes, there are markets for it, perhaps Viagra will snap up a photo or two. Or for calendars. Just two examples.

It's funny how people reply somewhat easier to forum posts about women nudity, where they may hesitate to reply regarding male nudity. To me both men and women are beautiful if the photo is done tastefully. When I first joined, I found I switched on my filter; then removed it - as the odd photo came about that was nicely done, and I was glad to see it. That lead me to wondering where the men were.

There wouldn't be a market in the UK Fran, as it's illegal to show the erect penis in a public performance (I've probably not used the best phrase there ), which would include any web sites. Any photos would only be sellable in licenced premises I should imagine.
True fine art nudes give some insights into lighting and may give ideas that could transfer to other areas of photography. Many of the nudes here are more fine line than fine art, the odd one pops up for rating that is interesting though.

Thanks for all your replies. I have a pic in my mind that is both creative and tasteful (and not THAT explicit) but I wanted to hear thoughts on male nudity that is rarely found. You're comments are all appreciated.

Fran DO IT! I bet every gay man in america would kiss you! Gay publications is the marketplace or your print on demand site. I suggest shooting the penis tight with telephoto lens and a colorful background. If your model took some vigra it help keep it erect without touching it while shooting. Wondering..... are penises pretty to straight women?
