| Photographer's Description |
|
This was taken in the spring at St Ives, Cornwall (UK) during a very cloudy day. The whole day was very dim and cloudy. While walking to the car park to get my car, I suddenly notice the sun is "coming out". Immediately, I grab the camera and make several shots before the sun is gone. Luckily, one of those shots turn out OK and hope you would like it.

The lighting is everything in this shot, it very dramatic. Nice composition with great mood. However the red sign on the building is very distracting to me, my eye keeps going to it.

What I like most about your work, is how instantly recognisable it is. For this to be achieved with landscape images is indeed commendable. Anothe rgreat shot here. The light reaching the foreground water is what provides the atmosphere and impact. Great stuff!! -10-

Beautiful lighting and I love the color of the sky and sea. Nice perspective and perfect timing catching the wave just as it broke along the sea wall.

Why have I never seen this before? The lighting on the water and rocks/buildings is beautiful, perfect timing with the water crashing against the rocks. Little things like that make the photo a notch better.

Chee-Onn -- this is a wonderful photo in every respect. Difficult exposure handled very well. Color is excellent. The hint of mauve is really nice. Makes me want to visit the St. Ives Arts Club! The light on the water is particularlly well handled. Excellent (if not perfect!) work.

Like it, I love it. The light as the sun is breaking through creates a beautiful atmosphere, the rocks jutting out, the water hitting against the building, and the buildings too, add to this wonderful composition.

Wonderful. At first I thought it was a painting. I'm not sure but I think pictures like this look very good both in high contrast and low contrast. Great, even with or without the sun.

Dramatic and magic shot, of a beauty of a place, the light of the sun coming from above, like a mystic situation, a Dreamlike place, next to the sea, the colour saturation is amazing (thanks Fuji )

Oh My, so pin point sharp and the magneta tone is so pleasing ... the repaired mortar in the stone wall is a great addition to an already stunning photo ... congrats ... like the handrail that leads the eye forward too. I could go on and on... lovely.

Your photos always seem to be illustrations for a yet-to-be-written book. This one is a thriller/romance set in 1950. I love the magical lighting you achieve.

Wonderful... absolutely great photo.
Love - the colour, the mood, the composition
Dislike - The clubhouse is a distraction, maybe remove the sign and red lifebelt box?

nice colours and dramatic scene here, maybe a bit soft on focus but that looks like it might be intentional ;)
