Photographer's Description

Lockheed's unique twin engine, twin boom fighter saw service in later WWII. The pilot sat in the canopied pod between the counter-rotating Allison V-12 engines. The plane was also used heavily for photo recon work. The tight cropping was reluctantly done to avoid property identification. At airshows, the owner/pilots are often hard to locate on short notice for photo release requests.
