Stock photo: Imperial Garden in Forbidden City, Beijing, China – This is a view on a gray, overcast day of one of four pavilions in the Imperial Garden located in the Forbidden City in Beijing, China. There is a pavilion in each of the four corners of the garden, symbolizing the four seasons. The Imperial Garden is 11,700 square meters. In addition to its intricate buildings and stone shapes, the Imperial Garden is famous for its many ancient trees – some as old as 400 years. Careful cultivation and the passage of time have given these trees exotic shapes. Thousands of Chinese and international visitors enter the Forbidden City each day. The Forbidden City is the imperial palace that housed 24 emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties.
