Stock photo: Forbidden City, Beijing, China -- This view shows part of a canal (Golden River Stream, crossed by five bridges) in the courtyard/square between the Meridian Gate (Wu Men) the Gate of Supreme Harmony (Tai He Men). It's the largest square in the Palace. The buildings, shown on a gray, overcast day: at right are pavilions, center is the east tower for the Gate of Supreme Harmony, and left is the east portal (Zhao De Men) of the Gate of Supreme Harmony. Thousands of Chinese and international visitors enter the Forbidden City each day.
