Photographer's Description

Mountain bluebirds are a common sight in rurual Utah during winter months where they forage along roadsides for various seeds. This picture was taken just prior to sunset on an extremely cold day (you can tell the way it's puffed up). I was especially intrigued by the halo effect produced from back lighting.
