Photographer's Description

Headquarters of an archaeological dig on the island of Failaka, off the east coast of Kuwait, taken in 1982. The dig was of an ancient Greek military outpost established by Alexander the Great. (I am not sure it survived the 1991 war.) A good site for it - easily defendable and a good trans- shipment point for supplies for the troops. (The more times change, the more they stay the same...)
