Photographer's Description

Photograph of Keri Caves in Zakynthos, Greece, from a boat. Some of the colours in the sea around Zakynthos are very vivid, due to reactions with minerals. Zakynthos is one of the Ionian islands and is also known as Zante, a name stemming from the time when it was a Venetian colony. It suffered from a major earthquake in 1954, when all but one building was destroyed. It is also the home of one of the major Loggerhead Turtle breeding grounds.

Hi Richard, I do not think I saw a verison of this photo before now. It's totally beautiful. Nice blue sky, terrific turquoise water, fine detail. The cliff has great fine detail. I'm being hard on you to look at your photos - you DOF is only on the trees/bush on the right side of the cliff, which is okay if this is what you wanted. In this mode, I can't # grade this pic - I give it a 7 to 8 rating. Take care, Bonnie
