Photographer's Description

Tide receding on a black sand beach in Quepos, Costa Rica. There are nearly 300 beaches throughout the magnificent Caribbean and Pacific shores of Costa Rica. They vary from black sand,brown, white, or a combination of colors. The beaches can be full of shells or scattered with stones. Some of the beaches carry dangerous riptides while others are fantastic for swimming or surfing.
