Photographer's Description

Sunset rays cast shadows on the roof of St. John's Church, in Riga, Latvia, St. John's church (Sv. Jana baznica), in the heart of Vecriga (Riga Old Town), was once part of a Dominican monastery. This 13th century Gothic church was rebuilt in the 16th century and today is a Lutheran church where concerts are also often held. The historic center of Riga was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1997.

great shot, very interesting composition with open blocks of blue sky and red roof and the intricate detailed parts of the church
