Photographer's Description

A walk along Seal Beach on Kangaroo Island found us up close with a number of Sea Lions. I watched this young pup come surfing in on a big wave and Mom was there to greet him. It appeared as if he was giving Mom some static for a few moments anyway. I enjoy watching the personalities of animals come out as you watch them. So many of there actions remind me of human behavior at times.

Great personality shows through here. I like the color tones, too - very pastel and gentle and go well with the little sea lion.

Mike, this is a great shot it looks like she's telling him the buck stops here. Your focus is right on target, and you have some very good DOF.

Great capture! Nose to nose! Whatever is going on between them, mom looks to be in control. Fine natural color and detail.
