Psalm 147:16 He sends snow like white wool; he scatters frost upon the ground like ashes." Taken at the top of Chinook Pass which will close shortly. I went for a bit of walk in the thigh deep snow. (I am going to have to get some snowshoes) I was blessed with a pristine day with a just a few lenticular clouds forming over Mt. Rainier. The upper lake was almost frozen over with just this little stream leading into it unthawed. I was struck my the peace and tranquility of this quiet scene

Great low-to-the-ground perspective on this photo. I've seen many pictures of Mt. Ranier, but none that look like yours. I didn't even recognize this landmark until I read your description.

Stunning shot Mike, i'd have cropped just the wee smallest bit off the right hand edge though just to get rid of that bit of tree. Fantastic scene though and so unspoilt. Great work :o)

brrrrrrrrrr.... but beautiful ... snow in the country is a world of "different" than snow in the city. The country snow is clean in unfettered by humans ... lovely.

Great shot, with the shinning snow, and the beautiful landscape, your eye goes right to the top of the mountain and that cloud that sits over it. Awesome job. Ben Ritner

Wonderful composition the snow is so "round and full and even" The eye wanders to the moutain and back. Rainier has made its own unique kind of cloud, or so it seems. A beautiful photo!

Beautiful winter scene. It does look very tranquil but very cold too!! Excellent exposure to record the snow, sky and distant mountain. Very good work Mike.

Beautiful capture of the thick snow, the snow on the mountain, and the soft cloud hovering over it. All seem connected in appearance, as in origin. The still stream with its dark reflections is lovely, too. Exceptional.

The contrasting pure white snow makes the pool appear bottomless. I like the crisp freshness this image provides and your control of exposure. Outstanding.
