Photographer's Summary - Joanie Downs

When I was a little girl I would get lost in the beauty that surrounded me. I grew up in the Black Hills of South Dakota near Mount Rushmore. My Dad worked for the Homestake Gold Mine and on weekends we would go fishing. This land of discovery has always held a special place in my heart. The granite cliffs, towering pines and the winters that seemed to go on forever. In early summer I loved to go for walks picking the little purple flowers along the creek and the tiger lilies that grew in the forest. Even then my eyes were attracted to the delicate beauty surrounding me. I am an amateur photographer living in Texas who is passionate about her work. My goal is to do freelance and stock photography. I value and appreciate all of your comments and consider all of them to be a learning tool. My hope is to continue to grow in my field and broaden my creativity. I hope you will enjoy the beauty and fun I have captured in God's creation through my lens. Joanie Downs
