ShutterPoint Stock Photography - Advanced Image Search

The searching techniques listed in these search tips may be used in combination with one another. They will help you reduce your search time by further defining specific images for which you are looking.

Spelling	Make sure your spelling is correct. Words that are spelled wrong can return incorrect search results.	Inccorect
Multiple Words	If you're not sure which word may be used in the keywords, title or description of the images you are searching for, use multiple similar words separated by commas, and all related images will be found.	nature, landscape, ocean
AND Operator	Use this operator to search for images that have both words in their keywords, title or description.	nature and ocean
OR Operator	Use this operator to search for images that have either word in their keywords, title or description. (A comma can be used instead of OR. A search for tutorials, help is therefore the same as for tutorials or help.)	landscape or ocean
NOT Operator	Use this operator to eliminate images where the search word is found in their keywords, title or description. NOT operator should follow the AND or OR operator.	nature and not ocean
Parentheses	Use parentheses to specify how ANDs and ORs should be treated. Words within parentheses are considered a unit, and are considered first.	landscape or (nature and ocean)
Quotation Marks	Use quotations to search for words or phrases literally. Useful when you want to search for the actual words and or or.	"nature and ocean"
* Wildcard	If you are unsure of how to spell a search word, use this wildcard. It searches for any number of characters before, in the middle, or following your search word. (A search for land* would find Landscape, Landmark, Disneyland, etc.)	land*
? Wildcard	This wildcard is more precise and less helpful than * wildcard. It stands for any single character. (A search for ?ar?et would find Market, Target, but not Learjet.	?ar?et
