We are very excited to introduce the beta version of our Affiliate Program.

This program allows you to maximize your earnings potential by promoting ShutterPoint on the web. There are no applications to fill out, and every member of the site can start with the program right now. Being part of the affiliate network can bring you substantial income - it's all in your hands!

In short, the program works by tracking sales for your referrals. Every time you bring a paying customer to ShutterPoint, you will be paid a share of the sale. Affiliate Program Overview

Some of our members voiced concerns over quality of the aspect ratings when they are not accompanied by optional comments. To address these concerns, we have added a brand new option that allows you to require comments on all ratings, regardless of whether they are given by the aspect method or not.

When you are signed in, simply navigate to your photo - you will see the Edit link at the right side of the Photo Information subsection. Clicking this links will bring up the page where you can edit any information about your photo.

Please note that requiring a comment may not always yield the best results. Some raters may not be interested in always commenting, and you may notice that the number of ratings you will be getting after forcing a comment may drop. Since numeric ratings are important in ranking images throughout the site, we do not recommend enabling this option on all of your images.

As you know, the rating page shows random photos and invites raters to give their feedback on a single image at the time. A rater can skip a photo randomly picked by the system and request another one. Sometimes a rater skips a photo because it does not catch his/her attention, or it does not appear inspiring enough, or he/she may simply feel a photo is poor and can't be improved.

To give photographers feedback on how frequently their photos get skipped by rates, we added the skip counter. It started counting on July 6, and therefore the system does not know how many times photos may have been skipped before that date.

Skips still increase the view count, and a "skip" is only a skip when a person clicks the Skip link. Choosing one of the thumbnails from the home page does not make the other ones "skipped". Closing the browser window or tab also does not record as a skip.
