Photography has been my hobby over the past 10 years. Along those time, I've captured a lot
of photos with different themes mainly for interest. I wasn't aware of its value until I
start joining ShutterPoint. As an amateur photographer, I only start venturing into the
stock photography market since last year. My first step was submitting my images to
ShutterPoint as they provide good service with an afordable membership fees. To date, I've
sold a number of images with a reasonable price through this agency and the service and
customer support is great. Overall, I think ShutterPoint is a good place for photographers
to feature their works as they provide excellent service and a fair place to trade our work.

I dabbled in film photography many years ago, but recently got back into photography
using digital equipment. The most amazing feature of ShutterPoint is the forums.
I have learned so much in such a short period, that I am still in awe.
There are many wonderfully talented photographers represented here and I have yet to
find one that is not willing to help a new person get started and make improvements. This alone is worth the price of my storage space subscription, whether I sell photos or not.
Many of my friends who have viewed my portfolio have remarked how well organized and attractive the site is. I feel this is an especially credible endorsement of those facets of the site since one of these individuals is a web administrator and all are IT people of various descriptions.

I just love you folks and your site! I came here to become a better photographer
(and that has happened), but I never in my wildest dreams expected that people would BUY
my work... and yet... since joining in July, I've sold THREE photos here... I'm ecstatic!
I tell everyone I know about ShutterPoint and have directed quite a few photographers
from an online chat room here. Your prices are totally reasonable, your service is
phenomenal, and your community is top-notch. I have learned so much and GAINED so much...
THANK YOU!

Dear ShutterPoint,
I remember a about 18 months ago I was deciding what site to join. Out of all the sites out there ShutterPoint stood out at the time and still does. Why did I join ShutterPoint?
1. It was the easiest to navigate, the search options worked and upload function was easy to use.
2. The rating function gave me some great feedback as I stepped from the film world into the digital world. I have benefited from the advice of so many here and still learn a new technique or tool often.
3. The commission structure was fair and the storage fees minimal. I have covered my storage fees many times over.
4. I have met many great image makers from all over the world and have developed some friendships that are both personally and professionally rewarding.
A year later, what keeps me here with my largest portfolio on the web?
1. I sell more here than anywhere else but locally.
2. I continue to get great feedback from skilled image makers all over the world.
3. The site functions faster than ever, with more and more features added to make the job of the photographer and the buyer easier.
4. My exposure here on ShutterPoint recently led to a 9 image sale to a startup venture that is my largest to date but also has the potential for future royalties and sales. (Without my exposure on SP that sale does not happen)
5. The customer service here has been great. Issues are responded to in a timely fashion by Ken, Jake and Kate and the rest of the ShutterPoint staff.
Professional and amateur alike can benefit from the exposure and communication with others that this site facilitates. Not to
mention the sales activity it has generated. In short, keep up the good work ShutterPoint.
Thanks,

I just wanted to drop you all a quick note to say thanks and great job on this site!
Shutterpoint is a very easy to use and fun site both as someone just looking around and as a photographer (hobbyist) uploading and managing photos. Well done!
Since my main career in life so far has revolved around technology, web sites, software, consulting and IT management, I've been involved with a lot of great projects start but unfortunately many fall short of expectations and especially ease of use! Since I'm sure there are always more things on your to do list and I'm sure a ton of requests being sent your way, I wanted everyone involved to know that you are doing a great job and all your users appreciate your hard work!
Thank you!

I will soon reach my one year membership with Shutterpoint and have found the site to be
very rewarding. I have been successful with sales and have had the opportunity to obtain
knowledge from other photographers on the site. The communication between photographers
and the ease of use, user friendly site makes the experience with Shutterpoint even more
worthwhile. I have had numerous people contact me before joining the site wanting to know
my experience and am glad to see that some of those have joined. I appreciate having
other photographers input as to what I can do in order to increase the quality of my work. I also feel priviledged to have many photographers on the site contact me inquiring about information through personal email Shutterpoint offers to members so that I am able to help them as well to improve their work.
With more than 400+ images on the site and still increasing my postings for sales I hope
to continue to be successful and retain all the wonderful friends and contacts I have
gained by being a member.

I have received a tremendous amount of support and helpful tips in the
few months I've been here. I find coming onto the site a pure joy each day; relaxing in fact.
I have gained a community as a result of rating and commenting as much as I can on the
photos posted.
ShutterPoint cannot be all things to all people so there will always be
some discussion and disagreement. This is part of the growing process. I
like the balance on this site between stock and community. The forums
allow discussion as well as the sharing of techniques. Other sites
appear so "cold", and I like that "I" can decide what to charge for my
photos.
I just wanted the staff to know, keep up the good work. I like how the site is growing and
evolving. Continue on course with your vision.

I joined ShutterPoint 6 months ago. though I haven't sold any photos yet, I have
learned a lot from the comment and rating from other members and by viewing their work.
I've been a hobby photographer for about 20 years. This site has rekindled my desire
to become a pro. Thanks ShutterPoint.

As a photographer, I believe that the ShutterPoint venue has an
exceptional amount of potential for serious artists and hobbyist, as well.
The possibility of international exposure is priceless. We can e-mail work
anywhere in the world of photography. I love it! ShutterPoint enables us to
place our works on the site and glean the ability to
converse with other photographers to learn and share about our passion.
The mere fact that I am figuring out how to place works on the website is a
growth step for myself. It feels like an accomplishment in itself!
I love being able to watch what is in the "mind's eye" of others artists.
Navigating ShutterPoint.com is very smooth, and the design presentation
quality works quite well.
This is a very well thought out site. Thank you!

The one thing I like about ShutterPoint is the rating system. Some of my
photos are better than others that I summit but I can try to improve them by
the ratings that I get.As I do this for a hobby I need all the help I can
get, also the photos on this site are first class.

With your reasonable prices and extensive features, ShutterPoint is the best deal I have
found. I came to ShutterPoint because you allow advanced amateurs with a small portfolio a
chance to sell their work and gain exposure. You also allow photographers to set a fair
price for their work and take only a small percentage, unlike those horrible micropayment
sites. Through some of the talented photographers here, I have gained insight and
inspiration and now have a more extensive portfolio that I am proud of. I have been
regularly selling photos and look forward to that continuing. My favorite new feature
of yours is the pre-sales information. It gives us photographers more insight what
buyers are looking for and lets us know which photos to keep in our portfolio for potential
future sales. ShutterPoint's customer service has also improved in the short time I
have been here and they are more receptive to ideas and quick to respond to questions.
Thanks for a terrific site ShutterPoint! I look forward to a long stay here.

Almost two years ago I happened on ShutterPoint while browsing online. Though I had always
taken photos, I had no idea or intention of marketing them, nor did I think I had the
expertise necessary to call myself a photographer. Therefore, I was surprised to find
myself signing up for an initial 50MB of storage space.
Since then I have received encouragement, constructive critique, and friendship from
members around the world and have learned a lot, most especially from the remarkable
images posted on ShutterPoint by many talented photographers. And because some of
my photos have sold, I am beginning to consider that maybe I, too, am a photographer.
It has been a great journey!

Being an amateur to the world of photography, I find that ShutterPoint maintains
GREAT forums that facilitate the exchange of thoughts and ideas-which ultimately leads to
better photography and increased sales! My fellow members both challenge and cont inue to
inspire me. I also find the storage space to be competitively priced and easily
managed :)

Why ShutterPoint is of value to me! I really like the appreciation and respect one gets
from fellow photographers. I really like not having to relay on some unknown person to
examine my images to see if they are good enough to upload onto their website. I contribute
to a number of picture websites and I really do believe that some of the examiners do not
have a clue what they are doing. On SutterPoint I want to only to upload my very best
images, and sometimes my fellow photographers let me know if any of them need attention,
and I respect that. What I don't like with SurtterPoint,
if someone has anything negative to say about any of my images I would rather they declared
who they are, rather than hide their identity from me, same applies if they say anything
good too! I know there are good reasons for this but I just feel its a sneaky way to get at
someone. I have made friends on SutterPoint, and I like that. This site is alive and full
of activity, it keeps one up to date and you feel involved, not like other sites where its
just dead and you feel (is there anybody looking at this website?) SutterPoint has a
lot going for it...Keep up the good work.

I am a photography student and SHUTTERPOINT for me is like a field trip where you can
see the works of others and learn from it and from everyone and socialize with
the community. It is an interesting experience.

ShutterPoint is of value to me mainly because it allows me to spread my
wings and test the waters, so to speak. I can work on an image, or take a
set of shots, then post them to this site to get a better idea of how they
are excepted overall from a photographic standpoint. This is important to
me, as I am new to photography, and working deligently to learn, grow, and
eventually build a business in photography. The scoring gives me a general
idea of whether the photo is acceptable, or needs work. I appreciate this,
as our spouses, children and other family members tend to be biased, and
comment simply to shut us up most of the time. :) To me, this is a
valuable tool not only in my business but also in my personal growth as a
photographer. The fact that a price can be set and images can be sold is
in my opinion, 'icing on the cake'. There is much to be gained from this
site, and I truly appreciate it's value and worthiness in my struggle to
grow and learn as a photographer.

Dear ShutterPoint,
I like using this service due to the full range of services offered as opposed to other
websites. There is a sense of community here and my photography has improved due to
feedback I have received from fellow photographers. Other websites are just simply
catalogues of photography. The ongoing disputes about ratings will most likely continue
as no rating system is perfect. Overall ShutterPoint is doing a great job. The best
feature is the new sales tracking introduced recently. Keep up the good work.
Thanks,

Although I have spent some years at college gaining photographic qualifiactions, I feel
that I have learnt almost as much here at Shutterpoint. There are some great photographers
here, and the beauty is that one can view other images, and discover exactly what work
sells. Something not easy to learn at art school! Therefore I find I am having to
continually shape and improve my work to remain competitive, and this can be achieved
here. There are plenty of friendly folk at Shutterpoint who are also willing to provide
advice based on there own successes. The other great facility is simply having a well
presented, place to store all one's images as a showcase, the feedback from other
photographers can also be incredibly useful, not to mention rewarding at times!
I can recommend Shutterpoint as respectably priced stock photo site, with some unique
features and qualities that combine to provide any decent photographer with potentially
excellent selling opportunities aswell as helping one in displaying a great on-line
portfolio.
