Commercial-Use (for profit) license allows using photos on commercial basis, and the type of photos usually sold under the terms of the commercial-use license is generally called "stock photos". Stock photos represent majority of photos on ShutterPoint, and can be used on book covers, as a postcard, in ads, as part of a web site design, in magazines, etc. Commercial-use license allows images to be used for editorial content.
If an individual's or a property's likeness is used commercially, you should ensure that you obtain a model or property release authorizing such use. ShutterPoint will usually not allow purchasing of unreleased images for commercial use, and you are welcome to contact us should you need to receive a copy of the release form for commercial use images you have bought. Availability of the release forms is shown in the photo information section underneath each image.
Please note that some images may not be available for standard commercial use, and some images may not be available for any commercial usage.
The main differences between the two types of Commercial License are outlined below:
|
Standard Commercial License Use:
Print Usage (Non-Resale, up to 10,000 copies)
|
Full Commercial License Use:
Print Usage (Resale and Unlimited Run)
